What can i do when my the sims 3 says your sim 3 base game is incompatible to the current sims 3 Expansion pack Please update your game via the game launcher But the dump thing freezes?

You have to download an update for your game by pressing the bottom option on the game launcher.
I'm sorry to be rude, but that DOESN'T WORK. If your gonna answer questions here you have to KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND YOUR ANSWER DOESN'T HELP ANYONE PRETTY MUCH THE ONLY WAY IS TO DELETE ALL THE GAMES THEN REINSTALL IT IDIOT!!
what are you on about just wait a bit then a update comes and click update and your game will then work i no this because it has happened to me...
I think all of you are wrong not to be mean but i just get the launcher screen and everything is slightly shaded after the message pops up and i cant do anything i even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but im waiting for it to let me click it hopefully it will let me in the morning

I just had that problem yesterday too and i kept looking for help on internet but non of their helps helped me , because they were too long and too hard for me.
So i was about to uninstall Sims 3 Ambitions soo i tought for a sec that i could do something els so i clicked on sims 3 ambitions with right key mouse and clicked on properties, then i clicked on Compatibility and ticked in Run this program in compatibility mode for. This may help u :)) iim preety sure.
