If your dog is bleeding, stopping it is number one. As soon as possible, apply firm pressure to the wound with your hand or a clean piece of gauze or cloth. Maintain the pressure until the bleeding stops, usually within a few minutes. Then seek further treatment from a vet.

It depends on why they are itching, you need to first figure out the cause of the itch. If the cause is known, these are some easy remedies. However, if you aren't sure why your dog is itching, get a diagnosis from a vet.

Is it fleas? Go to the vet and get a confortus pill, it kills fleas for a full month and really works well!

Is it ant bites or a rash of some kind? Hydrocortizone creme is perfectly fine to rub on dogs that have bites and rashes (so long as you know what it's from).

Is it Allergies? If your dog is frequently licking his paws and gets frequent rashes, you can give him childrens benadryl (1 cc per 10 pounds, I think. Look that up before you use it).

Does he have sarcoptic (red) mange? This is highly contagious but easily treatable with certain brands of topical flea ointment and sometimes weekly dips. If your dog is very, very itchy, loosing hair (especially in patches along the neck/back/stomach), and/or has scaly/flakey skin, then take him to the vet to have a skin scraping. Treatment is actually fairly easy.

Hydrogen peroxide works well. It disinfects and cleans the wound, but doesn't sting like alcohol, for example.

i would not do anything until you consult a vet and it all depends on how badly the paw is scraped... however in the mean time wrap it up in a bandage to avoid possible infection

I water down some Savlon or Domestos into a spray bottle and spray it into the wound regularly every 30mins or so until the wound heals over.
