A GSD can't have anything such as surgery due to the fact that it is genetic.
Medicine to dull pain can be bought however.
All young shepherds are prone to problems with their hips. A goood percentage used to have hip displaysia (where the hip joint comes out of the socket) so they usually have their parents xrayed before breeding them. Now my 'very' well bred shepherd has hips that are too tight and has severe arthritis at 5 years old. He is on caprofen (s?) Rymadil and can not run without it flairng up. I n our German Shepherd club they will not allow you to jump Shepherds until after 2 years of age because of this reason. See your vet.
German Sheperds have hip problems because the way they stand (back end squats down) was bred into them many years ago.

Belgium's have a thinner physic and smaller paws, also German shepherds hips are slightly dipped in comparison with the Belgium, the German's are prone to hip problems, and Belgium's are prone to getting muscle wasting diseases. I hope this is helpful x
A German Shepherd can usually have anywhere from 9 to 12 puppies. Before you breed your German Shepherd, though, you need to have her hips and elbows certified.
i think bcuz the upper half of ur body puts weight on ur lower half
They have hips
They have slowly evolved from lizards to snakes. The hips and legs are just remains of what used to help the creatures move many years ago.
To tell if you have wide hips, measure your hips and your waist. If your hips are considerably larger, you might have wide hips.
Uhh, I doubt you have big hips if you weigh 85 pounds...don't worry so much, hon.
