I had the same problem... No matter what I told him i.e. leave me alone, I don't want anything to do with you, you're psycho, even ignoring him didn't work! So I had to finally change my phone number and it stopped. You could go to the police and bring him up on charges for harassment or you could get an "order of protection" against him. Depending on which state you live in, he would not be allowed to come within so many feet of you or contact you in any way. Then, if he continues, he could go to jail.
