check for clogged converter. remove exhaust pipe ahead of converter and drive. if it has more power the converter is clogged.
Also clean the throttle body with carb cleaner spray. it get dirty oftenand robs from performance.
or hook a vacuum gauge to a line running directly to the intake manifold and then start the car, if it starts out high and slowly drops, converter is clogged.

Well it is an automatic so you need to install a shift kit. It's a computer chip that plugs into your PCM. You can raise your shift points to 5800 rpm.
