A swatch is just a little sample of something. A color swatch would be a sampling of colors. This could be for paint, wallpaper, fabric, carpet, etc. The purpose of the swatches is so that onee can see the colors in its intended environment. Such as a living room, office, game room, whatever. That is all it is. Good luck.

One of the best things about paint is how easy it is to change. If you painted your walls and change your mind you can easily paint right over it. Before you paint again there are a few things you can do to make sure that you'll like the new color for the long haul. First, get a few paint swatches from the paint store to bring home. Always take one slightly lighter and one slightly darker than your color choice. The lighting in your room will likely be much different than the lighting at the paint store and will make the paint color look different too. Once you've looked at the paint swatches in the room decide which ones you like best. At this point I always recommend buying paint samples and painting a small area on each wall of the room. If you aren't able to put samples on the wall then paint your samples on a white piece of poster board that you can move around the room. Note how the color changes at different times of the day. Choose the color that looks best any time of day. Be sure to prime the walls if painting over a dark color.
