Copper is a useful metal because it conducts heat and electricity well, it is also soft and can be bent and molded easily, it also oxidizes/ corrodes very slowly (unlike iron).
There are many uses for copper including:
Electrical wire (electric motors/ generators/ turbines)
Electrical contact switches (power plants/ circuit breakers)
Printed circuit boards contain copper strips connecting components (phones/ PC's, radios, TV's)
Copper Plumbing pipe (still in use in some countries)
Money, some countries still use "copper pennies" or variations of these
In more recent times copper and nickle have been replaced in certain currencies (with brass), as the metal content value is sometimes higher than the face value of the coin.
In the past copper was used for roof sheeting, cooking pots, kettles, taps, rails, lightning rods, boat keels.
The shell covering the Statue of Liberty is made from copper, hence its green/ blue color as it oxidizes
Pre 1982 pennies contain something like 93 or 95 % copper. Also brass contains both copper and zink(brass items include certian belt buckles, keys, pocket knives, canning jar lids, bullit cases, clock parts, candle sticks, hooks, etc)copper wiring and copper water pipes along with copper coiling/flashing,etc.copper is also in coputers and old optics,it is even in lightbulbs and modern coins(dimes, halfdollars, copper pennies, quarters.)
There are many kinds of that thing. For example, copper is widely used to electricity, and it is the line that helps electricity go through in a electricity line. Also, copper is used to make strings and other tough things and matters.
Copper itself is a good conductor of electricity. Substances that are made out of copper is likely to have a conductive property. Most of all metals are good conductors of heat and electricity. Copper wiring is one of the most common example.
The application of copper to conduct electricity is mainly for copper wiring, which allows the electricity to be conveyed from one area to another, like from the power plant to your house.
Pennies!, jewelry!, did u know copper is what makes the blue in fireworks?!?!?!? Well, now ya know!
Most things with electrical wiring have copper wires, and some plumbing pipes are copper.
