You Should Cut The Yellow Wire! : D
Just use some wire cutters or sharp scissors & cut (only until you feel wire)while you rotate around. Once you cut all the way around, pinch where you cut (carefully)with implement & pull off insulation. It takes a little practice,& occasionally you will go thru wire as well, but that's how it's done.
it has to heat up so it cuts the foam.

use to cut wires piste
To strip wire, you can use a wire stripper tool by adjusting it to the appropriate gauge of the wire, then placing the wire inside the tool and squeezing the handles to cut through the insulation. Another method is to use a utility knife to carefully cut around the insulation and then pull it off. Always be careful not to cut into the actual wire while stripping.

you can cut any wire you choose to cut. i, however, would not cut it.
I think you should use tooth picks and some thin pieces of wood & wire and some bottles cut in half.
First you turn off the power. Then you cut the wire. Strip each end of the cut wire and attach to each side of the switch. This should only be done within a switch enclosure. If there is no extra wire to make a good connection, you can extend the cut ends with wire of the same size as the cut wire and use wire nuts to securely connect the "pigtail" wires. You should only switch the hot side (Black wire in home wiring) and not the white wire which would pose a shock hazard.
find the wire and use a wire connector that is the same gauge as the wire.krimp the ends and you should restore power to your alarm.
I use a utility knife to strip the outer insulator off the wire and then I use a wire stripper to strip the insulator off individual wires. I cut the wire with lineman's pairs.
