Try tooth pain medicine
Toe nails are modified to form hooves .
I actually have the same issue. If you have recently changed your diet that may be what's causing it. Assuming of course u are speaking of the same toe having thick and thin toe nail.
You will feel pain and depending on how ingrown it is, you may not be able to see the edge. Try pushing down on the toenail which you suspect is ingrowing and if it hurts then the chances are you have one. it hurts a lot when pressure is put on the foot. Soaking in warm salt water or using a warm wet wash cloth wrap helps to soften the skin and release puss and relieve the pain, before pushing back the edge of the toe from the nail. Wearing open toe shoes will help keep any pressure off the toe while the nail continues to grow out.
If a toenail gets damaged, by a shock, or too short a shoe, it can "die" and a new one starts to grow underneath. Eventually the damaged one falls off. That may or may not be your problem. Check with a doctor.
An in-growing toenail really needs to be dealt with by a chiropodist. I know that alot of in-grown toenails have to be removed. Make an appointment with your doctor, they may be able to give you something to help you out. Hi there, When I had a ingrown toenail, I needed surgery to remove the nail. But prior to this I did cutt the corners of the affected nail off, so the corners didn't stick in my toe and imbed itself any more. You could try this but it might do more harm than good. Alternatively see a chropodist who will look at your nail for you and fix it if necessary or advise you on whether you need surgery or not. Take care. ~T
First, the pediatrist has to use a shot to make your toe numb for when he cuts the ingrown toenail. So the shot doesn't hurt, he will spray some cold spray on it. the cold spray stings a little, but it helps not to feel the shot as much. Yes, that means you will feel the shot but it won't nesessarily hurt. After that, he will do his job in fixing your ingrown toenail.
it means that the nail has grown into your skin at the side of your toe.
Ingrown toenails hurt because what is happening is that your toenail is penetrating the skin. when anything penetrates your skin it will hurt. The toenail will press on nerves in the toe. another reason that it hurts is that it is infected. The way to treat an infected ingrown toenail is to remove the toenail from the opening in the skin with nail trimmers then soak the toe in warm salt water. Hope this helps!!
A product called 'Cold Spray' will numb the area temporarily.
You should soak it in epsom salts and then use some ingrown toe reliever. I believe Dr.Scholl's makes some

Go to a doctor right away to get some medication
You should wait at least a week if the sex involves your toe.
An ingrown toenail. It may be infected and need medical treatment.
It doesn't matter so long as you don't undercut so much that you get an ingrown toenail.
It is only a toenail, there is no reason to be scared of it! Some people find relief from ingrown toenails by cutting a small "v" shaped wedge out of the nail in the centre of the affected toe. Checking that your shoes fit correctly also helps.
