In short, ALL motors that run a timing belt will need it changing at some point. Engine type i.e. diesel, petrol, high power, extreem cam profiles etc. will depend on how frequently they are changed. A phone call to a dealer, if you don't have any documentation for your car/motor will give you the correct milage or time frame recommended by the manufacturer. Some engines made around the 2k era tho' had rather optomistic milages and due to over frequent failures, had to have service intervals reduced.
Some vehicles have a timing belt, some have a timing chain and some have timing gears.
Usually around 90,000 miles in most cases. You will need to change the water pump, too since you've already taken the timing belt off. Some Honda dealerships have timing belt specials that changes the belt, pump and checks/changes various other trouble spots.
Diagrams for timing belt marks for 1999 Mercury Mystique cars are great for mechanic's. If they need to replace a timing belt the diagram can show pictures of how the parts are set up to make sure they are fixing the timing belt correctly.
Never. There is no timing belt on this vehicle. There is a timing chain, but it is designed to last the life of the engine, given that the owner performs regular maintenance such as oil changes.
No, this engine uses a timing chain, not a belt. With normal oil changes the rest of the engine will wear out before the chain.
The 1990 Buick Century has a timing chain and not a belt. No replacement is necessary. these cars run forever the chain and pulleys need replaced around 200k
not for changing the belt. however you will need it for the ignition timing once you have replaced the timing belt
Most timing belt (vs timing chain) cars need service at 60,000 miles. If the belt fails, and your engine is the interference type, the valves will be hit by the pistons, ruining a good engine.
I found out that my 2002 Rav 4 has a timing CHAIN, no belt, even after the dealer service shop said they would change the BELT. I believe all cars newer than mine will still have a timing change which doesn't need replacing. Sorry for the double posting, but I can't edit the previous: I found out that my 2002 Rav 4 has a timing CHAIN, no belt, even after the dealer service shop said they would change the BELT. The Toyota Corolla is equipped with a timing belt. Whether the need for a timing belt replacement is dependent upon many different factors. If the engine is not running at all you probably will need a timing belt.
there is no timing belt. auroras use a chain.
If you are refering to the timing belt, then there is no belt it is a timing chain and does not need replacment.
