What cause gayness?

Genetics appears to have some apparent contribution. There has yet to be any absolute confirmation as to what specifically determines one's sexual orientation. Gay rights advocates usually claim that "one is born gay"; on the other hand the Christian right has much to gain by maintaining that being gay is a choice. Whatever the reason for one's sexual persuasion it is most obvious that the root cause is very complex, deep seeded and not one that is easily answered.

Organizations like Exodus International that conduct reparative therapy do not promote their actual percentage of alleged success, though a factual number would appear to be that it is approximately between 5 and 15%. Of important note is that the usual outcome that is considered one of success with reparative therapy cases is that they do not become fully heterosexual, but instead are often conditioned not to act on their homosexual desires. The idea of one of these organizations, most of which are Christian centered turning a homosexual male into a skirt chasing straight male are not only absurd but preposterous. In fact the founders of Exodus International denounced their own creation and 'reverted' to their homosexual orientation.
