The reason why the Iraqi soldiers surrendered so easily is because the USA, UK and etc kept bombarding them with bombs on there defensive line. This made them sleep deprived and they went a bit mental and did not have a lot of food and water. The allies used things like the B-52 bomber to bomb the Iraqi line.

It took just 4 days for the first groups of the Iraqi army to surrender. The tank and air might shown by the U.S and British forces were too frightening to the Iraqi army.
