A priest in the Church of England is allowed to marry freely. They can marry a divorced person or even a person of the same sex. However, this has caused great controversy and a rift in the Church of England. Some priests still choose to remain celibate.
Corruption in the Catholic Church! Also the validity of King Henry VIII marriage to Queen Katherine of Arragon. Resulting in England's break from the Catholic church and the creation of The Church Of England, among other things.
I don't know about Henry VII establishing a church, but Henry VIII was excommunicated from the Roman Catholic church and subsequently the Church of England was established. Henry wanted a divorce from Katherine of Aragon so that he could marry Anne Boleyn. This caused a lot of problems, not least of which was the question of divorce being, well, out of the question. I realise my answer is daubed with quite a wide brush and lacking detail, but I'm sure Hedley can fill in the gaps!
Charles I was a Catholic. This caused problems because England had problems with Queen Mary Tudor and the leader of the English Church was supposed to be an Anglican.
disagreements over who leads the church
The protestant reformation was caused by Martin Luther who wrote the ninety-five theses. He criticized the Catholic church and other followed him, causing a break-away from the roman catholic church.

You're thinking of Catherine of Aragon. But that was not the cause of the Church of England, Henry VIII formed the Church of England out of nothing (it was NOT a "split") in order to marry his second wife, Anne Boleyn, as the Church would not grant him an annulment from his marriage to Catherine.
In most of the cases, they broke away from the Catholic Church because their princes left them no choice. Of course, there is *always* a choice as shown by the martyrs and saints in England who went through hell to remain loyal to the Catholic Church. However, it just goes to show that with most people their religion doesn't go down very far.
True
