Might be a vacuum leak
it controls idling of car engine, without it it will not idle..
on throttle body just before hose to air cleaner. it is black and has a 3 wire connector that goes to it,its round!!
Is it inside the engine it self on top
idle air control could be bad!!
Running at idle the book says 41-44. High 30s is ok.
the idle is set by the comp so u need some sort of programmer
Stalling at idle? Immediately after starting? While driving? While stopping? Cold or hot engine? What engine do you have?
There are multiple causes of high idle on this application. They include throttle cable out of adjustment, IAC problems, evaporative emission failure, and vacuum leaks (among others). This is a critical safety issue due to the possibility of uncontrolled throttle and must be diagnosed and serviced by qualified mechanic.
Is the check engine light on? If so, have the codes pulled at just about any parts store. Could be several things. First thing that comes to mind is a bad idle air control valve.
Two pronged connector attached to the side of the throttle body, held into throttle body by two bolts.
on 3.1 v6 it is before throttle body almost at the air filter hose,it is round and has 3 wires going to it,its black.
