Coolant level low, thermostat stuck, clogged radiator, defective water pump, blown head gasket, or cooling fan not functioning.
You will need be able to fix it as you need a machine that can cause a vacuum inside the system. You have to take it to a shop and it will be expensive.
For some reason Oldsmobile decided to have the air constantly on for circulation purposes. Just turn the knob towards the blue side so that the air isn't hot. That should make it less iritating.
Happened to me. Termostat stuck closed. Changed thermostat. Test for possible blown head gasket. Happened to me. Termostat stuck closed. Changed thermostat. Test for possible blown head gasket.
There is an overflow hose behind the reservoir:) I have a 1999 Oldsmobile alero and I have the same darn problem! Coolant spits out it, then all the sudden it runs hot and I have to fill it again. Think it has something to do with protecting the engine? Just wait for your water level light to come on in your dash. There is a sensor under the reservoir. Then fill it up. Ive tried everything aside from catching my alero on fire. I will never buy another one. Nothing but problems hard to diagnose.
The primary cause for a 2000 BMW 528i to run hot is a defective thermostat. A stuck thermostat will prevent coolant from flowing and can lead to overheating.
you may be out of refrigerant. (134a). go to your local auto parts store. doesnt cost too incredibly much.
Be sure the cooling fans are operational and that there is no debris (leaves ect.) blocking the flow of air through the radiator.
what causes a hot spring
Could be low on coolant or a sticky thermostat.
Bad temperature sensor? Plugged or restricted radiator? Water pump not circulating coolant? Thermostat not opening? System airbound?
Air bubbles remaining in the system
What causes the color to become hot
