∙ 14y agoAn aneurysm is caused when damage occurs to artery walls. An aneurysm is a section of an artery that has become abnormally widened because of a weakening of the arterial wall. The aneurysm forms sac-like extension and when enough pressure is applied to the arteries of the brain they tend to burst causing a stroke or cerebrovascular accident with brain damage.
