Passing an electric current through a wire will produce an external magnetic field.

This is because the electrons have spin and this spin is what produces the field.

Spinning electrons (of certain characteristics) also produce the magnetic field of permanent magnets.

And no spinning electrons, no magnetic field.

A current in a long straight wire produces a magnetic field. These magnetic field lines?

The magnetic field lines are arranged circularly around the wire.

How do you know when a wire has current flowing through it?

How electric current causes magnetic field around conductor?

Electric current causes magnetic field around conductor by producing a moving electric charges and the intrinsic magnetic moments of an elementary particles that is associated with a fundamental quantum property.

How does coiling a wire affect the magnetic field generated an electromagnet?

Coiling a wire increases the magnetic field of an electromagnet because the magnetic field around a wire is circular and perpendicular to the wire. Each turn of the wire reinforces the field of the one next to it. The magnet field is strengthened. (I was in A+, too ;) ) - Dawn Ayers

What is the relationship between electron and magnetism?

Electrons have a charge. Any moving charge creates an electric field, e.g. electricity moving through a wire causes a magnetic field around the wire, or the earth rotating creates a magnetic field which causes a compass to point north. Similarly all electrons have a spin factor. similar to the earth rotating, the spin of electrons create a magnetic field around the electron.

A magnetic field around a current carrying wire forms?

concentric circles around the wire
