The engine may not fire when the distributor coil is broken. Replace the distributor coil to see if the problem is resolved.
The oil pressure switch is located at the back of the engine next to the distributor. Looking at it from the front of truck it will be right of distributor. Normally it can be changed without removing the distributor.
The cam sensor is part of the distributor, the entire distributor needs changed. You can not get the cam sensor separately.
The distributor is the crank sensor. If the timing belt was changed and the check engine light came on, the shaft that drives the distributor could be out of time.
Your Jimmy has a crankshaft position sensor mounted by your crankshaft pully in the front of your engine on the bottom. If the senor is bad your engine does not recognize that your engine is turning and will not fire the plugs. Try changing your sensor and your engine should start.
The 1991 BMW 520 distributor Can be found on the back side of the engine. The distributor Will be on the top of the engine.
Check for hairline cracks (very hard to see) inside the distributor cap. This causes cross firing.
The distributor is on the front of the engine.
faulty wiring,ground. pick up coil in distributor,just change distributor. new computer and or mem-cal,computer chip. Only on the 3.8 engine-the cam shaft magnet.
7mgte doesnt have a distributor. it has coil packs. only 7mge has distributor
