You'll have an initial loss of pressure in the primary tank, simply because that air is being used to charge the service chambers of the brake cans... a transmission line to the foot valve (pedal or treadle valve, depending on the mounting) transmits air from the foot valve to a relay valve... that air actuates a plunger which opens up the lines to the brake chambers with air already charged into a feeder line.
If it continues, then you have an leak either in the service chamber of one or more brake chambers, or a leak in the air line somewhere in the primary air system.
A brake fluid leak in the system would do that. Check the brake fluid reservoir. If it is empty you are in need of brake work asap!
Could be,E-Brake slightly applied, Sticky E-Brake cables, E-Brake out of adjustment, Brake fluid reservoir low, Brake system in need of maintenance,
No.
The clutch uses DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid, and shares the reservoir with the brake system. The brake fluid reservoir is the same as the clutch fluid reservoir.
Parking brake not fully released? Brake fluid in reservoir low due to worn brake linings? Brake fluid in reservoir low due to leak in system? Bad sensor?
Probable causes: Low or no fluid in reservoir; Worn brake pads/shoes; Air in brake lines; Leaking brake line.
no
It uses brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir. The clutch fluid (brake fluid) is fed by the brake fluid reservoir. The clutch fluid reservoir is just beneath the brake fluid reservoir. So, add fluid to the brake fluid reservoir to fill the clutch fluid, also.
Common causes are low brake fluid levels in the master cylinder reservoir, or air bubbles or leaks have been detected in the brake lines.
Check the brake fluid reservoir, it may be low on brake fluid indicating it is time to have the brakes inspected.
where is the brake fluid reservoir on a 2006 jetta
Master cylinder, is the brake fluid reservoir. It is mounted on the brake booster, on the firewall, driver's side.Master cylinder, is the brake fluid reservoir. It is mounted on the brake booster, on the firewall, driver's side.
