First, make sure the screen is plugged in. Does the screen power indicator light come on?
Second, make sure the screen data cable is plugged into the computer.
Third, is the computer power supply working? Many desktop PCs have a fan in the power supply. If the fan isn't turning, the power supply is dead and must be replaced.
Troubleshooting gets more complicated after these three steps.
Random theories as to what the problem is online might be of little use to you. The best avenue to take will be to have a technician take a look at it. It's common for the standby switch to go bad on HP laptops. This causes the computer to think the lid is still closed even when it's turned on and opened. Or, it could be that the monitor simply went bad. Only way to know for sure is to have it checked by the OEM, or by a licensed computer technician.
Well if you leave your computer for awhile it's connection dies down and goes black until you move the mouse or go back on and do what you are doing.....

If your computer screen goes black, the first thing to try is to turn your computer off, and then turn it on again. This allows the computer to re-boot.
Its because your computer froze or one of the wires were plugged out.If that does not work try a day without your computer and then see if it works.
