AnswerUsually a bad connection either in the ground (more likely) or the hot leg. I have seen a lose fuse cause this as well, but it depends on how old your car is and if it uses the newer blade fuses or the older glass cartridge type.

i have the same problem i found out what it is by the brake and gas pedals.. where the code reader goes underneath the a black box. I think it is a power converter. I unpluged it and the dome light went out, but no more flicker.

My '93 Sport does the same thing periodically. This may be a cool safety feature Jeep uses to indicate your brake lights are not working. If this is the case it is as simple as replacing fuse or bulbs. if your lights flicker on and off i wouldheck for a short in your electricle systm or if they went out and stayed out i would start by checking the fuses in your fuse box.hope this helps.

Honda dashboard lights are powered by a single fuse. The taillight fuse keeps the dashboard, taillights and hazard lights safe. If any of this units cause a short all of the components will not work.
