Is charge the measure of extra positive or negative particles an obgect has?

Yes - but really just the negative particles ... electrons.

Why is cell swelling in the brain especially dangerous?

Because there is no-where for the extra swelling to go - since the brain is completely enclosed by a solid skull, any swelling of the tissue causes an increase in the pressure of the surrounding fluid, which causes damage to the brain.

What happen to pressure as you go down to the bottom of the sea?

The pressure increases by the weight of water per sq cm above you. That is, by 1 gram per square centimeter, per centimeter extra depth you go. The density of water is 1 gram per cubic cm (ie 1 gm per sq cm area per cm depth).

How does pressure affect a thermometer?

Heat is transferred thru the glass of the thermometer to or from the liquid (mercury) inside. The heat causes the liquid to either expand (hot) or contract. Since the large bulb end contains most of the liquid, but grass doesn't expand as much as the liquid, the expanding liquid forces itself up (if hot) into the narrow tube, which indicated the temperature. On the molecular level, particles outside the thermometer have a certain kinetic energy (KR) and the particles inside the thermometer also have a certain KE probably a different amount or they are already at the same temperature. Particles (either molecules or atoms) when in either the solid or liquid state, are constantly in motion (for solids, they just vibrate about a fixed, central position. Collision of the particles outside the thermometer and the thermometer itself cause exchange of some KE until the average KE of the outside particles is equal to the average KE of those in the thermometer. When this occurrs they are at the same temp. This change in KE of the particles in the thermometer causes more motion, and this extra motion causes what we call expansion. All molecules in the thermometer are pushing against each other with more force (KE).

What 3 subatomic particles are in an atom?

The proton, neutron, and electron. Protons and neutrons are made up of particles called quarks, but you most likely will not need to know that. Additional information about quarks can be found with extra research.

What cuses pressure in the fore head and nose?

The body responds to unwanted intruders such as pollen by sending extra fluid to the cells. This causes the tissue to swell and extra mucus to be produced. There is very little space in many areas of the sinuses so it feels like pressure.

How many pages does the book deeper have?

What is a measure of extra charges that are on an object?

Charge is the measure of extra positive or negative particles an object has.

What are the causes of heredity diseases?

Why do deserts have high air pressure?

Deserts have a high air pressure so the air sinks, making the no. of clouds less and bringing expected dry weather. High pressure areas form when an airmass cools over a cool land or ocean surface. The cooling causes the air layer to shrink, becoming slightly thinner. This shrinkage then causes surrounding air in the upper troposphere to fill up the extra space. The added weight of the extra air causes higher pressure at the surface. Remember: cool air------> more dense check wikipedia or factmonster.com for more info...... Hope that helps ya. Peace!

How does codeine affect blood pressure?

Codeine is converted by the liver into Morphine, which causes its pharmaceutical effects, Codeine itself it pharmaceutically inactive as it can't get into the brain. Morphine, like all Opioid painkillers causes the blood vessels to dilate and the blood pressure to drop. So Codeine will be perfectly safe for someone with normal or high blood pressure, but in people with low blood pressure extra caution should be taken when using Codeine.

What are Extra-chromosomal DNA particles capable of independent replication are called?

What is thermal energy for kids?

it is All light comes from atoms. Atoms that produce light have either gained energy by absorbing light from another source or by being struck by other particles. It is this 'extra energy' that causes an atom to give off light. The light being emitted is carrying off the extra energy.
