headers may be to small meaning more air coming thru carb or efi than leaving the motor thru the exhaust. You have to think of a motor as a huge air compressor. Had same problem 10 years ago when putting a vette 350 into a Chevy pickup trying to us stock exhaust. Which if read article right this is not a stock exhaust.
Glowing headers can be a symptom of a lean condition, vacuum leak, or timing problem (ignition and cam timing).
It's lean.
block hugger headers
No. The Pontiac headers will not bolt up to the Chevy small block.
"SBC headers" typically refer to shorty headers for a Small Block Chevy engine. These headers are aftermarket performance parts that are designed to improve exhaust flow, increasing engine efficiency and power output. They are often used in high-performance applications or custom builds.
Not even close...
Yes. I think that Hooker headers makes a kit with moun ts, headers, and frame reinforcements.
A bare Chevy 350 engine block weighs about 200 to 250 pounds. When you add in the crankshaft, camshaft, headers, and the intake it is more like 500 to 550 pounds.
Yes. it is the same as S10. Alston Cassis Works, makes a kit, with everything you need, from mounts, to headers.
Fast Times Rods in Dunkirk, NY bought the old S&S headers, inventory, fixtures and jigs when they went out of business and is now reproducing the 1941 Willys fenderwell headers in Chevy Big Block version with 2" primary tubes and soon to come a small block version in 1 3/4 dia. primaries.
I think Hooker headers, Alston Cassis Works, and Art Morrison ent., all make kits to install that motor, that would come with everything you will need, from headers, to motor mounts, to frame connectors.
all engines have exhaust headers but the headers your thinking of are aftermarket performance headers, the ones on the 440 from the factory are made of cast iron.
Contact hooker headers, Alston Cassis Works, or Art Morrison ent. They all make kits that come with everything you will need.
