I'm having the same problem with my 91 RT/TT. I have not found the problem yet, but from researching the 'Net, most likely the problem is traced to a sensor, bad spark plug wires/plugs, or a vacuum leak. I was told by a mechanic to start with the plugs and wires, if the problem persists, next step is check for a vacuum leak, and finally, check the sensors. I ran my car through a computer code check (because I have the check engine light coming on) and it indicated a bad O2 sensor, which would not cause the problem. Does your problem occur when going at a steady speed, then accelerating slightly, and it feels like the car is bogging down, or detonating/misfiring? That's the problem I am having. On my next days off, the plugs and wires will be changed. My neighbour thinks it is a vacuum leak, though, the way it idles.
I had same problem-cleaned out the carb put on cool air intake, new k&n filter, oil change and she purrs like a kitten.Spark plugs do need a changing and 02 sensor could cause that it did on my other car wouldn't pass etest(I am from Canada) changed the o2 sensor and new catalytic converter and runs perfect.
this could also occur if engine is not warmed up yet
a non-turbo charged 1993 dodge stealth has originally 222 horse power. or somewhere right around there
bad coil pack on cylinders, find or pull ignition wires and you can tell by no loss of power.
Probably the increased load on the engine caused by the power steering pump.
What causes no power to coil pack in 1998 dodge stratus ?
225 hp for the es model (non turbo) 300 for the AWD twin turbo
A Timing Belt, A Serpitine Belt, A Power Steering Belt, and if you have A/C A Belt for that too...
That switch is for the transmission. the stealth came with optional tranny settings for power and economy. gas is better with the economy setting but you have more power and torque with the other setting. this switch also improves your shifting speed to increase acceleration.
On a 1992 Dodge Stealth Base model with a 3.0 Liter Engine It is located in the base of the Distributer, it has four wires connected to it via a molded plug. this is a source of many problems with a 1992 Stealth. The plug is located right next to the Power steering High presure hose, and on my stealth was chafed in two. It is very hard to see this problem until it is unplugged from distributer.
Perhaps a plugged catalytic converter
If the 93 Stealth came with a crank sensor but it does not have one now, then it will not start. The sensor shows the ignition coil when to send power to the spark plugs.
sounds like the power transistor i just had the same deal allso could be the ECM
motor loosing power due to wear, also differintals will become loose.
