Faulty sensor, low oil level, thin oil, plugged filter, worn bearings, worn pump,...........
ANS 2 - A faulty sensor can not cause low oil pressure.
Low oil pressure can be caused by multiple faults. A blown gasket, a cracked head, a leak in the line, or even a low level can cause low oil pressure.
One of the causes for low oil pressure in a Chevy Tahoe could be a clogged or dirty oil filter. Changing the filter may get rid of the problem.
The light you refer to is not a low oil level light. It indicates low oil pressure. You may have plenty of oil in the engine but you have low oil pressure. Can be weak oil pump, worn bearings, or can be just a defective oil pressure sending unit.
low or no oil pressure
Low oil pressure. Such as a bad oil pump.
Compromised oil system, faulty engine oil rifle pressure 1 sensor.
Compromised oil system, faulty engine oil rifle pressure 1 sensor.
Low oil pressure.Oil level extremely low. Faulty oil pressure sending unit. High mileage/worn engine bearings.
low oil pressure can be caused by a blocked or part blocked gause at the bottom of the oil pump, the oil pump itself or a faulty oil pressure sensor unit. Try replacing the oil pressure sensor first as this was the problem with my one.
it needs a tune up
There are many reasons for the oil light to come on. You could be low on oil or the oil pressure switch could be defective. Oil pressure is not created by the oil pump. The oil pump provides a volumn of oil. The engine bearings create the oil pressure as oil is being squeezed past them.
Low oil, low oil pressure, failed oil pressure sensor.Low oil, low oil pressure, failed oil pressure sensor.
