it could be low oil level, oil pump going bad, oil presure sending unit going bad or the oil pressure guage going bad if you don't hear the valves making it may be the pressure uit or the guage if you hear a noise coming from the enine do ot run it any longer it may cause more damage

ON the rear bottom/side of the oil pan(under the truck), don't confuse it with the transmission drain if auto.
Need engine size.
It is usually between 9-13 PSI.

Fixing the problem which causes it would be the first step.
Could be the coolant temperature sensor.
High oil pressure or a faulty oil pressure gauge.
That year did not have a CAM SENSOR.
A Chevrolet K1500 is a pickup truck with an extended cab, allowing for seating of up to four adults or children inside the pickup cab. The truck is no longer being produced by the Chevrolet company.
The 1999 K1500 had the 4L60E automatic trans. Not sure which standard trans was used.
