Front or rear? discs or drum? rotors or drums turned(resurfaced)or not? Many times when you just replace pads without resurfacing rotors will tend to be noisy and sometimes overheat causing warpage,pedal will pulsate upon application.Good luck
New brakes do not grind. If you replaced the brake pads and resurfaced the rotors you may hear a bit of a sound but it is normal until the pads and rotors wear during normal driving.
If the rotors are in good condition, not warped, not scratched, then you can replace the pads without turning the rotors. Inspect the rotors carefully.
