What causes the automatic power door locks on a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix to keep locking over and over as you drive?

First the power doors locks kept locking over and over. Then the "Trac Off" light would come on for no reason. Then the RPM Gauge and Speedometer would bounce around intermittently. Come to find out there were several wires - one specifically that started it all - that had some corrosion (possibly from battery acid)and were shorting out. The dealer took a week to fix it and $900 later all's good. :)
