Usually in every vehicle the brake lights come on when the brake pedal is pushed in. There is a switch connected to the pedal in some way to make the light switch on.

If nothing is holding the pedal down then the brake light switch is at fault.
If the brake light fuse is good and the brake light bulbs are good it's probably a faulty brake light switch.

The brake light is on because there is a problem with the brake system. Until the problem is fixed the light will remain on. Once the problem is corrected the light will reset itself.
Your brake light is probably brake fluid low or emergency brake on. Rear brake lights are replaced by removing the lens and replacing the dual filament bulb.

If a 1991 Chevrolet S10 Blazer warning brake light always stays on, it could just be a malfunction of the light. To reset it, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes.
It could be low on brake fluid, a sign of trouble. Have the brakes checked SOON!
The 2001 Chevy Blazer brake lights may not work and the third bake stays on because the current light needs to be replaced. A replacement brake light can be purchased at an Auto Parts store like Pep Boys.
Remove the wiring harness from the high mount brake light. Remove the retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new high mount brake light.
