Need to check to make sure your coolant level is ok. Do you have a gauge? Is it running hot?
Ans: The level sensor in these cars is sensitive. Typically adding a few ounces of coolant to the reservoir until the level is just above the upper hose will solve the issue. If you still have a coolant light, the sensor has failed. It is easy to replace.
You can recharge your 1998 Mercury Mystique air conditioning system through the low pressure port. You can find the low pressure port on top of the air conditioning compressor.
bleeder valve on cooling system
inside a can of sprite
There is no need to do this normally.
On a 1998 Mercury Mystique : To the left of your tachometer is the seatbelt reminder light and Under your fuel gauge is the airbag readiness light ( if the light stays on or flashes take your vehicle in to have the airbag ( Supplemental Restraint System , SRS ) system checked out / repaired
A little more information please . What year , four cylinder or V6 , automatic or manual transmission . Then someone can probably answer your question about the coolant system capacity of a Mercury Mystique . Thanks ( also might need to know if it has air conditioning )
Hey Jeremy==It is close to or on the accumulator. GoodluckJoe
Just had this problem. I replaced the oxygen sensor and it appears to be running fine.
This should not be necessary on this vehicle.
Trouble code P0420 means: Catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1)
It sounds like you need to bleed the system of air.
usually 170 to 175 degrees on the stock cooling system
