Most odometers are connected to the transmission, the cable may have worked free on the trans or behind the dash.
Its could be a bad fuse. Try replacing the fuse first before moving onto more expensive fixes.
If the odometer also quits, the problem is probably the speed sensor or wiring to it. If the odometer keeps turning when the spedo quits, it is in the spedo itself and needs to go to the speedo shop.
