They have a magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is a mineral that is important in making chlorophyll (the green pigment that makes leaves green.) So a lack of it means that the leaves go yellow.
Either it's not getting enough water, or it doesn't have enough acid fertilizer. Lack of water of fertilizer will cause yellowing leaves.
Possibly chlorosis which is a loss of chlorophyll in the leaves. It can be caused by nutrient deficiency eg. Nitrogen deficiency, Magnesium deficiency etc Use an all round feed on it that contains all micronutrients (anything with seaweed extract is good) but i do advise Chempak No3 balanced feed as it contains a high level of trace elements. If its a magnesium deficiency then epsom salts can also be used.
it can be, or it can be a result of a fungal infection on the leaf. yellowing leaves, especially at the base of the plant are indicative of a root problem - root rot, over watering or even severe fertiliser burn to the roots of the plant

I think it's a deficiency of nitrates, which help plants to produce chlorophyll, and which is the pigment that turns leaves green, and without it, leaves can become yellow.
effect of light on gene action
The biggest cause of LCD yellowing is the use of improper cleaners on the screen.
mould
Mostly the combustion products & Tar associated with tobacco smoke that causes yellowing.
Yellow leaves are usually a sign of overwatering.

Chlorosis is the termed used for yellowing of leaves due to low content of chlorophyll. The cause of chlorosis is due to deficiencies in soil of substances like iron, magnesium, or nitrogen.
The Greek prefix "rhodo" means rose or pink. It is commonly used in words related to roses or the color pink, such as rhododendron (a type of flower) or rhodochrosite (a mineral).
The yellowing of the leaves tend to be caused by infrequent or irregular watering of this particular species. Over watering or water left in the saucers of potted plants will also cause this. Nutrient deficiencies can also cause this though a lack of flowering and general health of the plant would also be contributing factors. A complete slow release fertiliser will remedy this.
Magnesium ions are required to synthesize chlorophyll in plants. Lack of magnesium ions will result in stunted growth. The leaves will turn yellow. The yellowing of leaves due to magnesium deficiency is called Chlorosis.
