Check the cable plug and rpm sensor on the harmonic balancer
rpm and speedometer gauges not working 1995 Chevy silverado 2wd
because you are engaging the clutch which cuts out the engine for a smooth gear change
On the gas gauge where the speedometer and RPM's are
Check your vehicle speed sensor. It controls your RPM's and your Speedometer. Hope this helps.
The engine in that is the 2.4 Ltr OHV. A drop in rpm and stalling could be a vacuum leak, fuel pressure regulator or clogged fuel filter. Also a bad or leaking PVC valve will cause those symptoms. I restore a clot of these and they are great cars.
It gauges the revs of the crankshaft (thats the rpm you see on your speedometer)
Your rpm and odometer sensor were probably busted.
I believe the head is the part of the speedometer that is directly behind the faceplate of the gauge. It takes the input from the cable spinning at X rpm's (or sensor if electronic) and converts it mechanically into what your speedometer gauge indicates on the faceplate.
I'd say you have a ghost with ya.
when a dozer is idling its rpm are at 90,000 to 95,000 Could be dirt in the carb's idle circuit. Maybe a vacuum leak.
Around 700 RPM
