It it well known that during WWII, when our soldiers wrote back letters to be sent home. They would go through a censoring process where the letters would be censored of anything that may give the enemy a hint at the troop's locations. Sometimes the letters would be trashed completely. Censorship in WW2 varied enormously from country to country. In Britain, for example, all mail to and from people overseas was subject to censorship. In addition, the media were subject to censorship. George Orwell's "Animal Farm" was banned from publication till after VE-Day, as from July 1941 till May 1945 there was a policy of NOT printing things likely to offend the Soviet Union or likely to encourage anti-Soviet feeling.

In WW2 newspapers and television news were censored. Censhorship is when the government decides what or what not to show the people. Government considered it necessary in order to boost morale, but it was also a dangerous precedent because it violated 1st Ammendment free speech. The trend of censorship has been a common theme in wars throughout America and across the world, and is a dangerous side effect for war.

Cencorship was required during World War II to help prevent the enimies from finding out any information such as Australia's plans and their location. Even the letters sent and posted from the wives back home and the soldiers fighting were read over and made sure there was no information giving any suggestions to anything. If there was the information would be cut out from the letter and posted on.

How does censorship lend itself to an utopian society?

I don't think censorship lends itself at all to a utopian society. A perfect society would have a free exchange of ideas, therefore I would say that censorship lends itself to a dystopian society.

Do australians like Americans?

Typically yes!, The Americans and Australians have always been very strong allies. We think there great!

In world war 1 how did Australians feel about the Turks?

I don't know how they felt emotionally, if that is what you're trying to find out. Fact is, however, that the Australians fought against the Turks during the battle of Gallipolli. So I don't think the Australians considered the Turks to be their 'mates'. The reason the Australians fought against the Turks, was probably the pressure put on them by Great Britain. I don't know how willing they were to actually fight the Turks though.

Do Australians love Twilight?

I would think so. There is no reason why they shouldn't.

Is censorship ever all right or justified?

Censorship is a sticky issue with many differing opinions. Some feel that censorship is never fine, but others think that censorship is sometimes needed. Here are some viewpoints on it: No. Censorship should not be pracitced since the free spread of ideas is needed to have a free society. Yes! Censorship should be used wisely but not to completely control society. Censorship helps protect children and those in society. Kiddy porn is disgusting and without Censorship Laws it would be on-going (still is) but they are being caught a lot faster these days as you can see if you watch the news. Censorship can help protect people's children or trusting people from being cheated and used.
