Alfred Hitchcock died from renal (kidney) failure.
the film the birds

For many years a syndicated Alfred Hitchock Presents program, with appropriate spooky music, was on the residual (Mainly rerun) channels. My mother used to look at it. By the way it is just Alfred Hitchock, not Sir Alfred, he was not knighted. Hitchock produced or edited a variety of mystery magazines, that not only bore his name but had a picture of the man on the cover. These magazines are still in circulation, long after Hitchock"s earthly demise. I don"t know about the television dramas. a similar thing occured with Isaac Asimov in the science-fiction role- Asimov"s magazine survives and can be found on newstands.
Yes, the 1946 film Notorious is an Alfred Hitchock film. There is also a 2009 film called Notorious, directed by George Tillman, Jr.
The movie doesn't really end. The people leave town. Nothing is explained about why the birds attacked.
