Diana Spencer and Charles Windsor didn't actually marry in a church but in Westminster Abbey. The last remaining abbout became the Dean of Westminster around the time the Church of England finally removed the Catholic faith from the abbey during the reign of Elizabeth I. Henry VIII first expelled them only for the Catholic Monarch Catherine to allow them back.
Ummm...no. Charles and Diana did NOT marry in Westminster Abbey, but in St. Paul's Cathedral in the city of Westminster. Apparently Diana's parents were married in Westminster Abbey ion 1954. Since it ended in a bitter divorce, Diana didn't want to be married there and chose St. Paul's Cathedral instead. However, her funeral was held at Westminster Abbey which went against royal protocol since she was no longer styled "Her Royal Highness" nor was she considered to be a member of the royal family after she and Charles's divorce.
