I don't think the Church was more involved in people's lives than it is with members today. In medieval times nearly all people were members, of course, though Jews, Muslims, and members of certain independent sects (not all of which were heretical) were not.
I think it would be more accurate to say that the people were more heavily involved in the Church in those times. People did not have television to watch, and they did not have movies. But they did have morality plays. They did not have vacations, but they could go on pilgrimage, or even on crusades. They did not worry about their children's educations much, but they did worry about going to Heaven or Hell, because that was as much science as most of them knew.
The Church got much more deeply involved in people's lives later, when the printing press made it possible to produce large numbers of pamphlets and books that did nasty things like question what the center of the universe was. The Spanish Inquisition started with the end of the Middle Ages, and that should not be a surprise.
I don't know the answer to this question.
That is why I looked it up.
it was because it was their lives. the pope was incharge of the church and everything to do with it, even the kings!!
It was to puswade the pple to make a GIANT family of kids JKJKJK it was to teach ppl about Christianity.
The middle ages was certainly the time when the Catholic church had the most influence over European society. From the decision making of monarchies, to the personal everyday lives of people, the teachings of the church played a significant role.
The Catholic church regulated everything in the lives of people. They taught that man was born in sin and to be forgiven people had to go through the church. This included the nobility and they kept a tight rein on all factors of life.
The Catholic church was the primary force in the middle ages and the other force was the need to stay alive which became a feudal society.
