South Vietnamese cities such as Hue (in I Corps), Saigon (in III Corps), Pleiku, Ahn Khe (II Corps) were close to the war during the TET offensive of '68. Most cities in South Vietnam during this offensive were struck. As a general rule, with the exceptions noted above, most of the fighting took place in the countryside.
