Best Answer

Europe has four main climates, all specific to one region.

Continental Climate:

This climate is found in Eastern Europe and is defined as a high contrast between seasons. There are hot summers and cold winters.

Maritime Climate:

This mild climate is found in Western Europe and is a factor of the North Atlantic Drift. Summers are typically warm and winters are typically cool. There is also an absence of a dry season.

Mediterranean Climate:

This climate is found in Southern Europe, along the Mediterranean Sea and its outlets. Summers are warm to hot and winters are mild.

Subarctic Climate:

This freezing climate is found in Northern Europe. Being one of the coldest climates on the planet, it is defined as long, cold winters and short, cool summers.
