Any leaf with chlorophyll would have a shade of green color (complexion varies upon composition). Some leaves (including crotons) have different colors such as red and yellow, pink and orange.
chloroplasts are green in color. They make leaves green in color too.
the pigment chlorophyll inside the leaves are what give the leaves their color. They "feed" off of sunlight and in the winter there is less sunlight and can't keep the green color.
The leaves contain no pigments of that color.
they don't buffalo don't have leaves
Originally, all leaves have a species - specific color. When the leaves are 'alive' they are used for photosynthesis which activates chloroplasts in the leaves and gives them a green color. When the leave dies is autumn, it doesn't stand in for fotosynthesis, and the chloroplasts do not functionate any longer, so the original color of the leave is observed.
