purple
The permanganate dissolves slowly in water to form a purple solution.
Potassium permanganate is colored because it absorbs light in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum. The permanganate ion is the source of the color, as a ligand-to-metal charge transfer takes place between the oxygen's p orbitals and the empty d-orbitals on the metal. This charge transfer takes place when a photon of light is absorbed, which leads to the purple color of the compound.
It will change colour and become purple
blue
yellow, purple ad pink mixed together.
permanganate.
The purple color of the KMnO4 will change to a muddy brown.
The permanganate dissolves slowly in water to form a purple solution.
Permanganate(purple) becomes Mn2+(pale pink) and Iodide becomes Iodine.
Potassium permanganate (KMnO4) is purple, so I guess that "potassium manganate" is already purple!

A water solution of potassium permanganate is formed.

Transmitted light with wavelength 525 nm is the most highly absorbed by KMnO4-sol'n, that's why it looks so intensively purple in the white light spectrum. (maximum absorbtion coëfficient)
dark brown...or really dark purple
Purple ;)
Silver permanganate has the molecular formula AgMnO4.This is an inorganic purple crystal which decomposes when mixed with water. It is commonly used in gas masks.
