Mitsubishi, General Motors, Toyota and Tesla are all building electric cars.
As of right now, there is only one model of electric car: the Tesla Roadster. Tesla also has another electric sedan in production, but it is not released yet.

If electric cars are charged using renewable energy then they are better than hybrid cars, because hybrids still burn some fossil fuels. However, electric cars charged with fossil fuel energy would not be better than hybrid cars.

oil companies rely so much on people buying there fuel for there cars, that if everyone would get electric or solar cars, then they wouldn't make a large profit.
