What proofreads the DNA?

Transfer RNA (tRNA) converts the master code (on DNA) which is now on mRNA into a protein. It makes sure that the codes match.

What is the order of how a cell changes DNA messages to protein?

DNA -> transcription -> pre-mRNA -> mRNA processing -> mRNA -> translation -> protein

What carries the protein parts to the ribosome and the mRNA?

tRNA carries the protein parts to the ribosome and the mRNA.

Rna processing converts the RNA transcript into?

mRNA

MRNA is translated into?

Protein

Haw does antisense technology work?

Antisense technology is based on stopping the production of a protein. In order for a protein to be formed, the mRNA has to be translated (read by the ribosomes). The happens in the cytoplasm. There are stretches of nucleic acid bases called cDNA that are complimentary to specific mRNA sequences. These cDNA molecules can bind to the mRNA molecules and inactivate them. When mRNA is inactivated, it cannot be translated into a protein and a protein will not be formed. Since every protein is made by a certain mRNA, by inactivating the mRNA using cDNA molecules, the production of the protein can be stopped. This process is called mRNA silencing or antisense technology

What is the name of the process in which the directions for protein synthesis are given to mRNA by DNA?

Transcription is the creation of an mRNA from a DNA template. The mRNA then carries the instructions to the ribosome where they are translated into a protein.

What delivers the information needed to make a protein to the site of translation?

mRNA

What does tRNA have that mRNA does not have?

Protein Parts

What does trna does that mrna does not have?

Protein Parts

What subcellular structure is involved in translation?

In translation (RNA to Protein) a ribosome attaches to an mRNA strand and uses the mRNA to create a protein. There are other types of RNA and protein that can modify the mRNA strand but ribosomes are the main structure involved in translation.

What role does cytoplasm play in protein synthesis?

translation, where the ribsome converts mRNA codon into amino acids polypeptide
