On a 2002 f150 check engine light is on with only 53000 miles?

* It could be a faulty check engine light or a light sensor problem . There's probably not a problem with the engine at all just the faulty sensor light problem most likely. * ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If your check engine light stays on with the engine running , a malfunction with the emission control system has been detected. Have your vehicle scanned for any trouble codes in order to diagnose and repair the problem. ( I had a check engine light come on at 35000 miles - in my case it turned out to be the DPFE sensor )

Will the engine light come on if a sensor is going bad in a Chevy S-10 pickup?

The "Check Engine" light will illuminate when the ECM (engine control module) receives a signal from a sensor that is out of its parameter. It could be a faulty sensor or the sensor may be doing its job reporting a problem to the ECM.

How do you remove the check engine light after changing sensor?

If the check engine light is still on there is still a problem. When you fix the problem the light will go out by its self and the fault code will stay in the ecm as a stored code until it's reset.

Your check engine light stays on on your 99 Ford Explorer Why?

The check engine light comes on to indicate a possible problem with one of the engine's emission control systems. Take it in for service, and have the vehicle scanned for any trouble codes to locate the problem - usually a sensor.

Hi i heard that if your check engine light is on you cant pass the e check even if the o2 censor is working properly how do you fix this problem?

Would light come on if problem with catalytic converter?

If it has a downstream O2 sensor the check engine light will come on but if it does not the light may not come out. In most instances it will set the check engine light.

How do you know when oxygen sensor is not working?

The computer will tell you. If you have a "check engine" light, connect a code scanner to see what the computer has detected. If there is a problem with the oxygen sensor the code scanner will display the appropriate problem code.
