What could be the reason for a 1992 Chevy Silverado that had been starting and running fine to now have the motor turn over but will not fire on up?

Go back to the basics. Check the fuel, ignition and compression. I'd suspect the fuel first, check to see if you have pressure when you turn on the ignition and crank the engine. Try a little starter fluid to see if it will start using that. If it starts briefly after shooting a little starter fluid down the throttle body, I'dd guess the problem is either the fuel pump or the fuel filter. if you are getting proper fuel ck the ignition modual
