Have your alternator checked. That's what charges the battery.
check your battery cables. could be old or just loose.
the only thing that is left is the regulator which should have being replaced first in the first place Rocky_B - See my entry here for more things you might want to check: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_could_be_wrong_if_the_battery_light_stays_on_and_the_battery_still_runs_down_on_a_1996_windstar_after_installing_a_new_battery_and_alternator
No, the battery is DC voltage and your home runs on AC.
Battery cables could be loose, battery could be bad, starter could be bad, starter solenoid could be bad, ignition switch could be bad. Turn on the headlights and try to crank the engine. If the headlights dim or go out look at the cables or battery. If they stay bright look at starter, solenoid or ignition switch. The neutral safety switch or clutch petal switch could do it too.
it is probably your wire harness check it out quick Rocky_B - See my entry here for more things you might want to check: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_could_be_wrong_if_the_battery_light_stays_on_and_the_battery_still_runs_down_on_a_1996_windstar_after_installing_a_new_battery_and_alternator
well if you really hooked up jumper cables wrong and you got by the fireworks show then you probably damaged your alternator and battery. Possibly blowing fuseable link, but if car runs then alternator and battery.
My air-conditioner runs continuously. Temperature is set at 72. Room temperature is 83. What could be wrong?
It may have done some damage to anything that runs at all times.. Wireless locks, radio, computer systems and the Alternator could all have been hurt. The length of time the battery was on wrong makes a big difference as there is some protection on all this equipment.
could be a dead cell in battery if battery ic over 4 yeare old is probably battery
Simple, have the alternator checked and if it is okay, check the alternator circuit to the battery
Engine Dies, but Runs for a while After Jump StartingIf you're sure the alternator is working properly, I suspect that you have a loose, or disconnected, connection of the conductor [wire] that is supposed to carry the alternator charging current to the battery, OR a battery that has become defective.
If the tractor had a battery in it when you were jumping it, there is a chance that the battery is bad. Try unhooking the tractors battery and trying again. Hook your jumper cables to the battery cables themselves without being attached to the battery. If it runs then just replace the battery. A battery with a short in it will keep the mower from charging and could cause it to die. If there was no battery in the tractor when you were jumping it, then the tractor is not charging and will have to be diagnosed as to what the problem is.
