What could be wrong with an automatic 1997 Pontiac Sunfire if everytime you move the shifter it sounds like something drops really hard under the car?

Check rubber motor mounts and transmission mounts first. sounnds like there play in something definatly check the mount if there good then it might somehting worn in the tranmission.
