1) The flood switch has open circuited due to overload or mechanical failure.
2) The solenoid coil has open circuited or the solenoid plunger is stuck in the housing.
3) The wire screen filter in the solenoid assembly is totally clogged with debris.
4) The control circuit board has failed.
5) The isolation valve in the water line feeding the appliance is closed.
I've got this failure mode now ... and in my case ... the flood switch open circuited due to overload ... and as a result of the control circuit board failure.

I wouldn't recommend it. The best way to wash them is by hand. You can get a designated sponge for them and wash them in the sink with dish soap and warm water. If they are really dirty and you some extra power, you could use the Gojo products.
