I found out the hard way that mine was being caused by the ethenol in the gasoline. This was fouling the spark plugs. We replaced the plugs and problem solved. This new additive is causing similar problems in older cars. We now have to change our plugs twice as often. I live in Hawaii and can not find fuel without ethanol. Do you know what would cause this car to very suddenly start idiling very fast?
