Lots of things, pretty much all of which are fuel or ignition related. To start with, you need to check fuel pressure, and check if the spark plugs are sparking. If there's no fuel, or not enough fuel pressure, then look to the fuel lines, fuel filter, or fuel pump for causes (unfortunately, if your model is fuel injected, the fuel pump with integral fuel filter is inside the fuel tank). If there's no spark, or not enough, you need to look to the plugs, wires, distributor, and ignition coil for answers.
it happen too my 01 dodge Dakota the sensor is beside the throttle positin sensensor
Leaking injector is the most common cause.
There are a few things that can cause a 1999 Dodge Dakota to sputter. For example, the battery may be malfunctioning or the park plugs can be going bad.
Yes, a bad O2 sensor would cause a 2002 Dodge Dakota to stall. It would also cause bad fuel mileage and hard idling within the vehicle.
A possible cause could be that you have a clogged heater core.
Cause its broke!
If it is not diesel, you probably have a fouled or disconnected plug.
